The HKBK IEEE Student Branch and its chapters connect students with the world's largest technical professional organisation.
IEEE Student Branch
Technical talks, workshops, competitions and IEEE membership for students.
The IEEE Student Branch at HKBK College of Engineering brings together students from every engineering department who want to learn beyond the syllabus. Members meet engineers and researchers, build projects, and take part in IEEE events across India. The branch runs chapters for specific IEEE societies and affinity groups, listed in the tabs above.
IEEE Computational Intelligence Society (CIS) chapter. The IEEE Computational Intelligence Society covers neural networks, fuzzy systems, evolutionary computation and other nature-inspired approaches to artificial intelligence. The HKBK chapter runs talks, coding challenges and project groups in machine learning and AI, in step with our AI First Campus.
IEEE Women in Engineering (WIE) affinity group. IEEE Women in Engineering works to inspire, support and connect women engineers and scientists. The HKBK WIE group runs mentoring, leadership sessions, outreach to schools and technical workshops that encourage more women to lead in engineering.
IEEE Information Theory Society chapter. The IEEE Information Theory Society deals with how information is processed, transmitted, stored and protected, from coding theory and data compression to communication and cryptography. The HKBK chapter connects students in communications, signal processing and quantum-safe security.
IEEE Education Society chapter. The IEEE Education Society focuses on the theory and practice of education in engineering and computing, including educational technology. The HKBK chapter explores new ways of teaching and learning, including how AI can support students and faculty.
Any HKBK student can join IEEE as a student member and add society memberships such as CIS, Information Theory or Education Society, or join Women in Engineering. Members get access to IEEE publications, technical societies, scholarships and a global professional network. Contact the branch counsellor to join.
